The Tucson postmark verifies the date. It is a type 3 used from May of 1868 to June of 1870. Addressed to Jesus Redondo in Fuente, Yuma (?). Reverse shows sender as A Redondo. Jesus “Jose Tomas” Redondo was born in 1826 in Mexico. He died on April 20, 1897. He is buried in the Yuma Pioneer Cemetery. RARE fancy 'Franco en el Altra' forwarding stamp. The Altar Valley is a 45-mile long north-south valley, trending slightly northeast from Sasabe, Arizona on the Mexico border to the Avra Valley west of the Tucson Mountains.
