Scarce Lovelock small size type 1 $10 The First National Bank of Lovelock, Nevada Ch. #7654. Serial number F 000521A. This is a scarcely seen bank note from an area of Nevada that was established as a mid-point on the Humboldt Trail on the way to California. Like many towns of the time they became established as a "through area" of the Central Pacific railroad. The town was named after its founder George Lovelock, who provided 85 acres for the site which included a railroad depot, hotels and schools. Incorporated in 1917. There are only 14 small size and 6 large size notes known to have survived with the majority in the grade of Fine or lower, none grade better than Choice VF. This note brought over $9,000 in March of 2006. Fine to Fine +. Charter number makes a declining ladder.
