$100 bond no. 213, issued April 1st, 1871. Signed by Governor LR Bradley, controller Hobart, and treasurer Jerry Schooling. Punch cancelled many times over. Green border. Mining vignette by Britton & Rey. Four coupons attached. 13 x 16" Lewis R. Bradley (1805-1872) was an American rancher and politician who became the second Governor of Nevada, serving from 1871 to 1879. A Democrat, he was known for his opposition to high taxation and his efforts to stabilize the state's finances during the difficult post-Civil War years. Bradley was respected for his plain-spoken style and commitment to the interests of Nevada's farmers and ranchers.
