1) The 1894 triple murder committed by a jealous husband named Robert Logan had the Nevada newspapers abuzz. He would Dan Lovelock who ran a stage from Lovelocks to Cottonwood. Logan was sure he was intimate with his wife. He would also kill an unsuspecting passenger. While on his way to take the bodies to a dumping place and dispose of Mrs. Logan, his wife got the jump on him and killed him. Extensive background on the blown dam and triple murder! Lot of two. 1) 1887 Cottonwood note. Addressed to E. Emmons. He was a miner, store owner and rancher. Emmons would partner with Robert Logan in 1884 to blow a dam that was diverting water way from their property. 2) Note to Dan Lovelock regarding E. Emmons in Cottonwood. 3) 1881 letter to HB Yerington. Asking for a reduced rate from Carson City to Reno for Cora's Band. 4) Letter from Hamilton. Smaller school coming this summer. 5) 1886 letter with stamped, "CPRR / Feb 15 1886 / Halleck." "This is a very small pace. No store at all." 6) 1928 Letter from Lyon Switch about sheep and cow grazing. 7-8) 1869 letters from Treasure City about death of a child (not in Nevada) and life with children in Treasure City. 9) 1915 Indenture from the Torrey Investment Company of Lovelock. Signed by Carrie and ET Torrey from the family that Torreytown was named for. Ever heard of it? 10) 1910 letter from Buffalo Meadows in the Black Rock Desert. "I Don't know weather (sic) I will be able to get through with the stage tomorrow. 11) 1915 Tuscarora letter about purchasing a horse. 12) 1894 Genoa letter with a suggestion for the name of the new town. Since Harriman is not acceptable, how about Esau. The town was eventually named Sparks. 13) 1898 letter about the incorporation of the E & E Gold Mining Company. 14) 1917 letter addressed to G. S.
