40 pages. "Reports of Professor Henry D. Roger on Wheatley, Brookdale, and Charlestown Mines, Phoenixville, Chester County, Pennsylvania." Silver & lead mines. Printed by T.K. and P.G. Collins, Philadelphia, 1853. What makes this early report doubly interesting is that it appears that one of its former owners, identified as "DHC," made numerous advanced geologic notes throughout the copy. Rogers recommends that the Wheatley and Brookdale mining companies should consolidate and sink a main shaft between the two. He also believes the Charlestown to be promising, noting that the vein should be opened to a depth of 25 to 30 fathoms. Many specific details on the geology and nature of the deposits. Please inspect. Condition: original covers with soiling and writing. Inside pages have some foxing as well as the numerous geologic notes mentioned previously. 9" x 6" City: Chester County State: Pennsylvania Date: ID# 34835
