1854 Youngs Hill was located on Beaver Creek, three miles north of Camptonville. Named for William Young, the first claimant in 1851. In 1852 it was mentioned as a big camp. In 1855 it had three hotels, four saloons (one owned by Barnes?) , three stores, etc. But it quickly began to diminish after that. City: Youngs Hill State: California Date: 1854
