Extremely rare and early! Dated April 16th, 1860 when Nevada was still part of Utah Territory. Agreement between John J. Collins of Nevada County, California and M. Epstein of Virginia City, Utah Territory. For 35 feet, undivided in the "Chollar & Co. Mining ground located upon the Comstock Silver Load(sic.) situated in the Virginia Mining District in the Utah Territory." "Chollar and Co company's ground consist of eighteen hundred and twenty feet (1820) on said lead all of which is lying and being situate in Utah Territory." Signed by Collins. Signed by the notary public in Sacramento and Alexander Boyd. 13.5 x 8.5" By 1860, Billy Chollar had apparently already sold out. The Chollar Mine was between the Hale & Norcross and Potosi. Henry Comstock said he had located the claim and gave it Billy Chollar. Chollar sold out and moved back to Grass Valley.
