fabulous little picture of life for a lady in 1860. She is not involved in working, so she must have some money. (She does have a wash woman.) Hints abound throughout the diary - waiting for a sleuth to figure out exactly where this takes place. There are two younger people named Alden and Lucy Leonard. Friends have gone to Boston to go to the reception for the Prince of Wales. She spend a lot time visiting people and many names abound. Spends rest of time cleaning, preserving, washing windows and, generally, helping others. 4.25 x 3". Some black markings on cover, but pages are spectacular.
