Rare Nevada mining location. Sept. 1861 deed between WB King and James Thompson of Carson County, NT for feet in the Rally Company, Rally Ledge, Perkins Company, Moon & Jones Ledge, all in the Eagle and Washoe Valley District. Signed by William B. King. Folds, separation, stains. 13.5 x 8" Tingley describes the Eagle and Washoe Valley District, also known as the Voltaire District, as being located near the base of the mountains, on the east slope of the Carson Range and 3 miles west of Carson City. Most of the district is in the drainage basins of Kings and Voltaire Canyons. The Territorial Enterprise (1861) used the name Pine Forest for this area. The district was organized in 1861. We were unable to determine the exact location of these ledges within this large district.
