A handwritten 1862 letter from an R. Rowland to Miss Olive M. Rowland of Milan, Ohio. Mr. Rowland describes his experiences in the Civil War to Miss Rowland; in one instance, he mentions a fellow soldier taking sick after being "taken by Morgans gurrilas (sic)", possibly in reference to Confederate general John Hunt Morgan. He also discusses the transport of two fallen soldiers' remains, imminent plans to travel to Columbus, and his loneliness away from home. Envelope included. [ Perry Ohio
