Receipt from Folsom on October 10, 1863. W. L. Perkins Forwarding and Commission Merchant. He charged 8c a pound on a casting weighing 3,800 pounds ($308.00). This was very likely for the new mil that had to be built to replace the old mill that used the wrong milling process for Comstock ore. Charles Strong would be relieved of his duties in 1864.
