This 10 x 4.75" handbill is for 1867. It is a Programme of Excercises! A celebration in Gold Hill. CC Stevenson was responsible for the handbill as he was the grand marshall. In 1859 Stevenson arrived in Ophir (later Virginia City), Nevada, where he worked in mining, milling, and agriculture. He would later become the fifth Governor of Nevada. R. K. Colcord was one of the deputy marshals. He was also a Nevada mining man and would become Nevada's seventh Governor. Governor Blasdel would lead the state military in the parade.
