This is an important historical find. The diary was a school project by Lincoln Fowler when as a young man accompanied his father on a journey from San Bernardino to Pioche. IT seems to be amazingly accurate and gives a look at a trail drive in 1873. Includes a description of locations, scenery, and history. Stops include Fishpond Station, Camp Cady, Cave Station, New York District, Bird Spring, Los Vegas Ranch, Cane Springs, Hackberry Springs, Meadow Valley Wash, Bullionville, Panaca, and Pioche. I believe Franklin Fowler, the father, was delivering cattle to the thriving new mining camp of Pioche for use as food. Perceptions of the author and current research on all locations are included. Includes some forgotten locations like McKinney's Station that this journal and accompanying research have uncovered. Includes list of purchases on the way. Eight legal sized pages chalk full of information. Diary has been transcribed. City: Pioche, Lincoln State: Nevada Date: HWAC# 99617
