Very rare and important directory. Quebedeaux 151: cites the compiler as Edwin Driggs, based on his newspaper research of the publishing of the book. Lists this directory as very scarce. Notes that Streeter made an error and described this directory about the same as the Edwards 1883 Truckee Basin Directory, which it is not. Because of this mistake, there is a strong possibility that the inventory is incorrect, and this directory is much rarer than noted. It is certainly much rarer than the Edwards 1883 edition, which is noted as the same rarity by Quebedeaux. 163 pages. Published by the Reno Evening Gazette. No author shown. Printed on newspaper stock (high acid). Boards in good condition with chipped edges. The black gilt lettered spine is mostly gone with tape repairs. Pages heavily toned. Cover has sticker: "Presented With Compliments of Reno Evening Gazette." Measures 5.5" x 8". This is one of only two different directories specifically designed around Truckee. Includes listings for Boca, Bronco, CPRR Camps 23-25, Clinton, Cuba, Essex, Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City, Tahoe Hot Springs, Incline Crystal Bay, Glenbrook, Rowland's, Tallac, Sugar Pine Point, Reno, Truckee, Verdi, and Wadsworth.
