Vignette of railway on tracks in city with people walking by and horse carriage along side. Formed in 1901 with rail from Denver to Golden City and Leyden coal mines in Colorado. In 1902, company bought control of Denver City Tramway Co. Samuel M. Perry (1849-1929) a prominent and successful Colorado coal and railroad businessman and an associate of David Moffat, helped organize the Moffat Coal Co. He was also president of Oak Hills Coal Company. During his term as president of this railroad, he helped build the Denver & Salt Lake Railroad that opened up Northwest Colorado.
