(Honoring his work and perseverance as father of our industry and prosperity dedicated to watchmaking.) Copper, 58mm, AU. Daniel Jean Richard (1665-1741), father of watch-making in the Jura region, was a driving force behind the watchmaking industry as both maker and inventor, instrumental in breaking the influence of the Guilds in Geneva. His name continues in Jeanrichard watches of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
