Reno, NV 1902 $20 Red Seal; Fr. 641 The Nixon National Bank, Ch#8424. Serial number 14374/V410862. Four known in the Census. PCGS graded Very Fine 20. This note is full two grades higher than the next note in the census at a Fine 12. The note bears the signature of George S. Nixon, signing as President of the Bank. Nixon began his banking career in Winnemucca, where he and his colleague F. M. Lee (signing as cashier) began the First National Bank in 1886. In 1906 Nixon moved to Reno and founded the Nixon National Bank where he served as President until his passing in 1912. A Fine 15 specimen sold in May 2022 for $11,700.
