Many RPCs. Includes burro pulling wagon, horse drawn freight wagons, stage coach, tents, snow, lumberjack competition, lightning, cocktail lounge, gambling, and cactus. Cancels include a Reno & Goldfield 1909 RPC and 1907 and 1909 Tonopah. There is a Tonopah & Stagg on a registered package receipt and a Tonopah & Goldfield unused reply card. One RPC shows the christening of the Tonopah Railroad. Two postcards have interesting notes. 1) "Did you know it takes 12 hours to cross from Reno to Goldfield and about 20 hours to pass through Esmeralda. The RR makes it nearly as fast as N. Y. to Chicago." My favorite is "The U. S. troops are in camped in Goldfield."January 19, 1905. A very important and historic moment to Goldfield, featuring George Wingfield and Governor John Sparks!
