This lot contains two 50 round boxes of .45 cal. M1911 ammunition. The Evansville Ordnance Plant was a converted Chrysler Corporation plant that made .45 cal. ammunition from 1942 to 1944 to a quantity of over 3 Billion rounds. The first box is full and marked "50 CARTRIDGES/ STEEL CASE AMMUNITION / PISTOL BALL/ CALIBER .45 M1911/ AMMUNITION LOT E.C./ S2475, EVANSVILLE ORDNANCE PLANT". The second full box is marked somewhat differently: "50 CARTRIDGES/ PISTOL BALL/ CALIBER .45 M1911 AMMUNITION LOT E.C./ (lot number erased)/ REPACKED E.C. 9-44".
