A seldom seen rare and coveted Winnemucca Large Size Blue Seal note. The First National Bank of Winnemucca; Fr. 600; 1902 PB $5 Charter #3575. Serial number 1887. PCGS certified Very Fine 25. There have been about a dozen or so large size notes from this bank that have made it to auction over the past two decades, mostly in lower grades, with just one grade higher at VF 30. This bank did not make $10 or $20 blue seals, only $5, $50 & $100. This specific note sold about a decade ago for almost $13,000. Of specific interest are the beautiful purple blue signatures and the designation of "Vice President" at the bottom. The town of Winnemucca was named for the 19th century Chief of the local Paiute tribe. Loosely translated, it means "one moccasin," By the time the "other moccasin drops" on this bank note's bidding we should see some new records set.
