The 25c denomination US airmail stamp (blue) was issued on November 22, 1935 for the Inauguration of Trans-Pacific Airmail Service between San Francisco and Manila. The 25 Cent denomination airmail stamp depicts the "China Clipper" over the Pacific. On November 29, 1935, it arrived at its destination, Manila, Philippines, carrying over 110,000 pieces of mail. Very similar to the 1935 stamp, the US airmail 20c (green) and 50c stamp (red) were issued on February 15, 1937 for use on the new Trans-Pacific Airmail Service to Hong Kong and to China.
