A. Monroe, Eureka H. B. (Humboldt Bay), Cal. Gravitating Stopper embossed base. This bottle is one of the prettiest Gravitating Stopper bottles you'll ever see. Heavily whittles with good crudeness in the glass, the color is nothing short of spectacular. Two external lip chips that are invisible on the shelf. This bottle is subject to the longest story in Markota's book on California Hutchinson soda bottles. We suspect that it was produced in 1876, the opening year of the business. It is the oldest in the series of six different Monroe bottles, and was the only specimen ever seen by one prominent Eureka collector. Rated as extremely rare, this is a prize for any western soda collector. State: California City: Eureka Date: FHWAC#: 43619
