This is a matted and framed 1864 lithograph broadside of President Abraham Lincoln that was engraved on a steel plate by John Chester Buttre after a photograph taken by Anthony Berger in Mathew Brady's studio on February 9, 1864. This is possibly the same image used on the $5 bill. The border artwork was designed by W. Momberger. This is not out of a book. It was possibly for a campaign poster. Our consignor says this is a Lincoln re-election campaign item found in a railroad cabin at Beowawe, Nevada by Raymond Krisley in the 1960s. 8.5 x 6" in 13 x 11" frame. Very rare.
