These boxes were shipped on April 11, 1855. They weighed 150 pounds! Very likely carrying supplies for the new mint or, maybe even, dies for the new mint. Signed by John A Bell for superintendent Lewis A Birdsall. Birdsall was trained in the Philadelphia Mint and would open the new mint in San Francisco. Excellent condition.
