Engine classification lamp with two clear Fresnel lenses, each about 5.25 inches in diameter. The kerosene burner is included and appears to be intact, even has a wick. The lamp appears to have all of the original parts and is in good condition. Classification lamps were mounted to the left and right side of the main locomotive headlamp, and they indicated to railroad crews whether the engine was pulling a regularly scheduled, unscheduled, or segmented trainches Construction began on the Oakland, Antioch, and Eastern Railway in 1913 to build a catenary-wire, electric-powered line from Oakland to Sacramento, California. It was renamed the San Francisco-Sacramento Railroad in 1920.
