Rare, early pictorial billhead for this famous beer company. Dateline Golden, Colo. April 27, 1888. Golden Brewery, Brewer & Bottler of Pilsener Lager Beer and Coors Export Beer, Golden Lager Beer in Kegs. Adolph Coors, Proprietor. Vignette of Castle Rock with "C" at the center, surrounded by vignettes of hops. Issued to Henry Kneisel for $10 in beer. Printed by The Denver Litho Co. 5 x 8.5" Folds, very clean. Adolph Herrman Kohrs (later changed the spelling of his name to Coors) came to Denver in 1872. In 1873, he went into business with Jacob Schueler. They bought an old tannery building and opened the Golden Brewery. Coors become sole owner in 1880 and changed the name to Coors Golden Brewery.
