Lot of 50 advertising barrel labels, 10 each for 5 different products. Likely the most striking label is the Black Swan produce label featuring a black swan on blue water with white water lilies in foreground and green reeds in the background. Image surrounded by outer rings colored red and yellow against a faint yellow background. Beautiful image in center of die-cut label with Black Swan in green capital letters w/black borders on top, Produce of U.S.A. - U. S. Standard Barrel in red letters on bottom. Packed For blank box, and blank white banner, for produce provider name and address, blue lettering. Circular, 12 5/8" diameter. C. 1920s. This collection also includes: (a) COMET bleached powder from Ashwood Roller Mills, Ashwood , TN, for 196 lb container, Full C Patent, red, yellow and blue on white background, circular, +/- 16" diameter; (b) UPPER 10 flour, sold by D.O. Looney, Athens, AL, for 196 lb container, red and green lettering on white background, circular, +/- 16"; (c) Best Portland Cement, First Quality, Registered Three Colibris, colorful images of three hummingbirds in center, no other identifying marks, circular, +/- 12"; and (d) Best Portland Cement, Marca, S.M., Montevideo, product from company in Uruguay, South America, circular image, white/black/red, cut as an octagon (8 sides), "diameter" +/- 12 1/2". All printed on very thin paper stock.
