This hand-beaded hanging is African in origin. The beads are sown onto linen; the designs are two houses (huts) and two plants. The beaded part is outlined with cowry shells. This is a fine example of bead working craft. This is a wall hanger art piece. Although it is similar in appearance to a beaded wall pocket, it has no pouches. This design incorporates seed beads in light blue, dark blue, red and yellow. Mounted on linen, the piece measures an impressive 36" long and 5" wide.
