Lot of 11. Brass, round, scalloped edges. Inspired by Venetian Ducats 1722-32 popularity in Africa. These gilt copper imitations were struck in Birmingham by John Cook and sons for East African Trade 1830-1940. John Cook also exported these to India, but known as Putli. The token obverse is Doge Kneeling before St. Mark w/YCO between figures. Reverse is caricature of Christ w/pseudo legend either side.
