The personal US Bureau of Mines publications of geologist Steve Fechner, who authored or co-authored most of these professional papers. Fechner worked for the Bureau of Mines, then the BLM after closure, then in private practice. Fechner loved rocks, the wilderness, and especially his couple of decades working in Alaska. His non-technical Alaska library is listed elsewhere in this sale.
This group of 22-plus publications are Fechner's personal copies. Most of the subject matter are studies of important placer mining regions such as: Valdez, Yentna, White Mountains, Nome and Beaver Creek placers, Chugach, Goodnews Bay, Colville, Dunkle. The group, dated mostly in the 1990s, occupies one file storage box, and comes with three notebooks of meeting outlines and a few personal photos.
If you collect or need studies on Alaska placer gold deposits, these publications are a wealth of knowledge.
