Harris was a traveler and writer that wrote an extensive and early account of the Klondike gold rush. The book contains promotional and practical information on traveling to the Yukon and Alaska gold fields. There are many quotes from miners and other promoting the area and the abundance of gold to be found. It was a very popular book that was sold by subscription through multiple publishers.
