A collection of about 300 sheets of bond coupons for shares in the Alaska Mexican Mining Company, c. 1880-1920. The Alaska Mexican gold mine was part of the Treadwell mining operation, which began in the early 1880s and functioned until its decline in the 1910s and eventual closure in the 20s. Alaska Mexican was the site of Alaska's largest mining disaster; in 1910, an explosion in the mine killed 39 miners, largely foreign workers from Serbia and Greece. The bond coupons for Alaska Mexican were produced in different colors; the collection contains blue, red, green, and brown coupons. [ Alaska
