1881. Incorporated July 31, 1875. Certificate # 1042. Issued for five shares to George W Doerzback(?) on Dec. 30th, 1881. Signed by S. Spiner as President. Unusual vignette of Native Americans with dog on left. According to the 1881 Report from the Director of the Mint: "At Pike City, the Alaska quartz mine is being systematically developed. On the 250-foot level, west of the shaft, a rich body of ore was discovered, which yields largely in the 20-stamp mill owned by the company" (U.S. Mint, pg. 99, 1881).
