Eight items from the A.Y.P.E. which was held June 1-October 16, 1909. 3.7 million people attended this World's Fair that celebrated the development of the Pacific Northwest. 1) Souvenir ticket for Seattle Day (with vignette of Chief Seattle). 2) A twenty-seven page pamphlet put out by the Chicago Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway. Includes maps of the railway, the fair grounds and of Seattle, as well as descriptions of the exhibits and black and white photographs. 9" x 4" 3) Souvenir folder containing 20 color illustrations (postcard size) of the fair. 4) Souvenir booklet with photographs, official publication of the fair, published by Portland Post Card Co. 5" x 7.5" Softcover with stapled binding. 5) 16 page booklet, The World's Most Beautiful Exposition, issued by the Dept. of Publicity. 9" x 4.5" 6) Colorful certificate that looks like fruit box label. A fake diploma awarded to Johnston Fruit Co. of Santa Barbara for Grand Prize for their lemons. 8.75" x 12.5" 7) Booklet, The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific-Exposition Illustrated, by Reid. This copy marked Mitchell Phillips, Oct. 1909. Water damage/staining. 9" x 12" Unnumbered pages. 8) Photo album containing 23 photographs of exhibits (approx. 6" x 8") glued to brown paper.
