This American Luger was built under a Swiss contract in 1900. It has a 41/2 in. pencil barrel with an American Seal of the Bald Eagle, shield of thirteen stars, and the arrows and olive branches in its talons stamped on the top of the receiver. Also stamped on the receiver is DWM; the manufacturer. It is S/N 81XX, with all numbers matching parts, The receiver is also stamped "Germany" to comply with import standards. This early four digit Luger shows pitting on the metal surface with worn walnut grips. The magazine fits well and functions well with the gun.
