Incorporated in North Carolina, issued March 10, 1859 to Israel Griffith for 500 shares, signed by P.H. Sullivan as President and E.R. Sprague as secretary. Cert No. 195, uncancelled. Not listed in Whitney (1854). Not in Taylor (1868). Sullivan was exceptionally active in North Carolina mining ventures. These included: North State Copper & Gold (1859), Copper Hill MC (1859), Baltimore and North Carolina Copper & Gold MC (1861), Silver Valley MC (1861). Griffith was apparently a Baltimore contractor. Rare, California Gold Rush period.
