Four page handwritten document was an express contract between American Express Company, James C. Fargo, president, and the Fredericton Railroad Company of New Brunswick, Canada. The document states that for consideration, the railroad would allow American Express to have sufficient space on every passenger or mixed train the railroad would run between Frederiction and Fredericton Junction, New Brunswick. The express company was to load and unload their own freight. The rate was fifteen cents per hundred pounds. The document was signed by Thos. Semple, the president of the railroad.
