What a unique collectible! A 1943 dime encased in a plastic holder with "American Museum of Atomic Energy/ Neutron Irradiated" printed along the rim of the holder. These were souvenir pieces created by the museum in Oak Ridge, Tennessee during the 1950s and 1960s. Radionuclides were becoming an important tool in medicine and other branches of science, and the museum used these souvenirs as a way to show off the process to the public. 1943 HWAC# 28603
