Not cancelled. Floral black border and print. Four coupons attached. Folds, creases, tears, and soiling. 12 x 14" The American River Water and Mining Company was formed in 1854 to build a ditch to divert water from the North Fork of the American River. The North Fork Ditch was dug from 1854-1856, and provided water for drinking, irrigation and mining operations to areas that are near Folsom. Palmer was also a Folsom banker (Granite Banking House), as well as Wells Fargo Agent and an assayer.
