There's something in this Lot for every collector, including hidden value for the treasure hunters in the audience. 1) A hodgepodge of vintage advertisements, articles, instructions & health care ephemera, including an article on how to raise and keep your children healthy, a "New-Skin" liquid bandage advertisement, assorted medical advertisements for quick cures and medicines, Dr. J.H. McLeans 1945 Almanac (which also advertises his line of medicines), Severna's Medical Almanac & Guide to Health from 1925, (which, oddly enough, also pushes his line of cures) and too many others to list. 2) Southern Historical Society Publication 1883 by The Southern Historical Society: a recounting of the Civil War from the Southern view, with battlefield accounts and officers' reports. It was a bi-monthly subscription, that none members of the Society paid $3 per year for. This softcover is in not great condition. 3) Merchant Service Steamship Discharge Record Book, which is sort of an exit interview booklet kept to record the conduct and performance of masters and seamen who serve aboard a company vessel in the Merchant Marines or other non-military ship. This was used when a seaman is discharged or quits a ship so he can have a record to reference for future employment aboard another vessel. 4) Texas Postcards framed and postmarked 1908 & 1909 and an invitation and cover from former Texas Governor John Connally to a Democratic Victory Dinner to be held in Austin, on January 25, 1965. Connally was in the same vehicle as John F. Kennedy, Jr. on November 22, 1963 when the President was assassinated and was also hit by gunfire, but his injuries were not fatal. This lot is an incredible Americana mish-mash with several highly collectible pieces for the discerning collector with a good eye. Please carefully examine all photographs for more detail and to fully assess condition. City: State: Date:
