Interesting stock for a mining invention! Signed by two important Mormon figures. Inc. in Utah Territory. No. 336, issued for 50 shares to P. Anderson (likely Peter Anderson, the inventor) on October 7th, 1896 in Salt Lake City. Signed by president G.G. Bywater and secretary Milando Pratt. Not cancelled. Black border and print. Has maybe the most practical vignette ever on a mining stock as it completely illustrates how the device works. We see a cross-section of a canyon with a river running through it. At the top of one ridge is a pump with steam rising from it. Pipes lead down into the mountain to a flooded area underground. Printed by Deseret News Publishing Co. Folds with minor separation. 8.5 x 10.5" A blurb in E&MJ Vol. 63 describes how the device works: two pumps are used. The one at the surface has all the power. Don. H. Porter of SLC owns the patent. Both G.G. Bywater and Milando Pratt are important Mormon figures. Pratt is the son of famous Mormon theologian Orson Pratt and nephew of Parley P. Pratt, "The Apostle Paul of Mormonism." George Gwilym Bywater was a prominent and talented Elder in the Church. State: Utah City: Salt Lake City Date: 1896
