This collection is of Private Oliver Seymour (Zimmer) reenlistment and discharge papers (2) and a tintype photo of this 17 year old Illinois volunteer. He would later be the youngest POW at Andersonville Prison. Signatures are of G.W. C. Hyde Commanding officer; James Hill Mustering Officer, and R.L. Wilson Paymaster. A young German immigrant whose name was Americanized and returned to Illinois after the war. A rare Civil War collection that includes a tintype photo at 1.5 in. X 2 in.
