Photograph of Annie Oakley and playing card with her autograph. Beautifully framed and matted together. Certificate of authenticity included. Annie Oakley (1860-1926) was an American sharpshooter and exhibition shooter who joined Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show as a teenager. One of her most famous tricks was splitting a playing card edge-on! She developed her shooting skills very young as she tried to help support her siblings and widowed mother by hunting and selling game. She was very passionate about teaching women to shoot, and it is believed she taught upwards of 15,000 women. After a train accident in 1901, which she recovered from, Oakley left the Wild West Show and pursued other interests, such as acting. She remains one of the West's most iconic female figures.
