3 articles recovered from the Ansel Easton trunk found at the S.S. Central America shipwreck. 1.) Handkerchief. Possibly silk, and about 18 x 20 inches. It is stained, and the material is degrading. No monograms or other markings. 2.) Fine men's dress shirt. Possibly the finest condition of all the men's shirts recovered, this pleated front, skirted base shirt has far less stain than the others. French cuffs (no buttons). possibly 14" collar. arm inseam 25", overall length 36" 3.) Monogramed Collar recovered and conserved in the 1990's along with the gold. There were monogrammed items recovered with initials, but this collar is of special interest because it has the monogram of "A, I, Easton" written by hand in script on the left center of the collar band. It was preserved between 2 panes of glass and encased in a secondary display of Plexiglass with an oak wood frame, as this special collar was on public display in the 1990's. Collar is 16.75x4" with some degradation most notably on the side opposite the monogram. Primary preservation panes 5x18", secondary frame 9x30".
