Antique jeans found underground in the Toughnut Mine at Tombstone. One of the most famous mines in the district, it was owned by the discoverers of Tombstone, the Schieffelin brothers. There are no labels anywhere, nor are the old buttons marked with a manufacturer, thus the pair is not made by Levi Strauss, the originator of Blue Jeans. These have been repaired time and again, typical of mining clothes which undergo exceptionally rugged conditions. Possibly circa 1885-1900, but the date is unknown.
