This is a fabulous antique gaming table purchased by the consignor in Virginia City, Nevada in 1960. The table is original, probably made by Mason & Company before gaming prohibition in 1910. The tabletop is lacquered felt, made by the Reno Gaming Supply Company (probably c. 1940). The roulette wheel itself, of superior construction and design, was made by Nolan Company of Los Angeles, California. Gorgeous inlaid design on the wood. The wheel also probably dates to the late 30s or 1940, corresponding with the repeal of gaming prohibition in Nevada. Classic claw design on the wood legs. The base of the table is just over 8 feet and the narrow with four players is 43 inches. The width, including space for dealers, is 58 inches. Comes with original cashbox and two boxes of worn pre-1920 gaming chips (featuring swastika). It makes sense that the top and wheel have been restored/replaced in relation to the rest of the table. When Prohibition started, tables like these were moved into storage and sat for years. Decades later, when gaming was again allowed and the table was brought back out for play, no doubt the table surface and wheel would have been very worn and needing repairs/restoration. Because of its size and weight, this item is local pick-up only. State: Nevada City: Date: FHWAC#: 43418
