Yavapai tray circa 1940. This Apache tray measures 2" height x 11" width, with a loop for hanging. On a three stick foundation. Background is made with willow or sumac, and the black design is made with Devil's Claw. Floral pattern with 5 hearts at the end of the petals. The basket is finished with a rim ticking. This basket is in good condition. Note included with this piece mentions Annie James, Prescott, Arizona although we could not find any reference to a weaver by this name. Attributed by ND.
