Group of three photographs related to arctic explorations of the 1930s including the following:
A) Photograph of one of Admiral Byrd's planes and two ships at Quantico marine base. Dated May 11, 1935. 7.75 x 7, good condition, part of the top has been cut off.
B) Photograph of crowds welcoming Admiral Byrd in Dunedin, New Zealand after his Antarctic expedition. This was one of the first of these pictures to arrive in the United States. Dated April 2, 1930. 10 x 8, good condition.
C) Photograph of a hearse bearing the remains of Salomon Andree in Tromso, Norway. Andree was an arctic explorer who died while trying to reach the North Pole by balloon. Dated September 12, 1930. 8 x 10, good condition, folded at the bottom.
