This is a one-page (front and back) hand-written letter from a son, John S. Moore, to his father, R.B. Moore, datelined Ehrenberg (Arizona), Oct. 14, 1878. In the letter, the younger Moore discusses "the terminus of the operations of the 'scott possee,'" "Collins had no more idea of the end they were working to when he left." He writes that he wants to lease a ranch and water for four years and "put the water all in the flume and defy man or the 'devill' to turn or divert one drop." Later he discusses selling mules in Prescott, Ariz. ("...we can never sell crazy ones for an average of $20.") He adds, "The Indians 'has' been wanting to buy them but do not want to pay what they are worth." [ Arizona Robert Coelln Collection
