# 3 for 500 shares to W. S. Hobart. Hobart made his fame in the lumber business. The Comstock needed wood for fuel and to go deeper in the mines. Hobart provided that lumber from Lake Tahoe. We have seen several stocks from the Reese River assigned to him, but this is the first Humboldt County stock that has surfaced. Signed by Phillips and president R. E. Brewster. Rolla E. Brewster arrived in the Comstock when it was still part of the Utah Territory. He was actively investing in many mines (Rogers, Ophir, Fair View, Dickerson, etc.) by January of 1860. Dateline San Francisco September 10, 1873. Incorporated July 11, 1873. Not cancelled. Mine, mill, and ore wagon vignette. Wheeler of San Francisco printer. Two assessment stamps on back. Corners rounded and pin holes. Located in the Buena Vista district which is located on the east side of the Humboldt Range, south of the Star district, in Buena Vista Canyon. The town of Unionville is in the center of the district. Today this is in current Pershing County. Biography on Hobart and Brewster and a page of notes on the Arizona. City:Unionville, Humboldt Co.
